E-Commerce Site Flipkart And Amazon Started Deliver ring Products In Red And Orange Zones

the government’s decision to “allow e-commerce in Orange and Green Zones to serve people safely with products that they need and have not been able to access due to the lockdown”.

Amazon added that the company will maintain the sanctity of the new guidelines around the red zones and urge the government to consider the “positive role e-commerce can play to get customers all priority products they need in the red zones as well, enabling a stronger economic support for the small businesses while prioritising safety.”

Ecommerce giants, Amazon and Flipkart have requested the Government that delivery of non-essential products to be allowed in red zones as well. The e-commerce platforms have issued a statement wherein they have asked the Government to do the same.

In the statement, Amazon has stated, “While we will maintain the sanctity of the new guidelines around the Red Zones, we urge the government to consider the positive role e-commerce can play to get customers all priority products they need in the Red Zones as well.”

Flipkart too has supported this request asking for non-essential goods to be delivered to people that will help them to work from home.
